If you wear glasses or contacts, make sure that your prescription is correct and up to date.
Try to avoid glare on your screen from windows or lights. Computer screen manufactures have created screens that are anti-glare if your current screen cannot avoid a glare where it is located.
Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away from the screen at least 20 feet away for at a minimum of 20 seconds. It is important to get up every hour to two hours to stretch your arms and legs, too.
Wear Sunglasses
Not all sunglasses are created equal. It is important to wear sunglasses that protect your eyes from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. An excessive amount of UV exposure can cause you to develop cataracts and macular degeneration. The sunglasses you choose should wrap around your eyes from the side and if you drive, they should be polarized to help reduce glare. Although some contacts do offer a small amount of UV protection, it is important to wear sunglasses for added protection.
Always remember to visit your optician on a regular basis to check for diseases and to make sure the prescription of your eye wear is up to date.
