Dear Dr. Spigelman, I just wanted to let you know how much I truly appreciated the time and care you took to see and treat me and my eye injury when I got the hand sanitizer burn. It’s not every day you come across someone who is willing to go the extra mile and afford a patient their attention after hours or on their day off. I honestly believe that if it weren’t for your consideration and generous contribution of your time, I would have had a much more complicated recovery or, even worse may not have healed at all. As it turns out, my eye is all better and I believe the vision has returned to what it was before my injury. You’re a stand-out in the crowd and I will highly recommend you to anyone I can. Thanks again.
– Stephanie E.
Dr. Mishulin & Staff, Thank you very much for doing such an excellent job on removing my cataracts and implanting the Toric Lenses. Everyone was very professional, helpful and kind. God Bless you all!
– Ronald
Dear Dr. Spigelman and Staff. This is a note to say thank you very much to your office, staff and most importantly you for being so gracious and supportive to me at my appointment. I know that the second opinion appointments can be annoying. Thank you for everything.
– Jennifer
Dr. Grey, We want you to know how much we appreciate your professional care through the years. We always feltto be in good hands. Wishing you the best in the coming years. With gratitude,
– John s.
Dear Dr. Grosinger, My new eyes are working quite well. Thank you for your patience and guidance through cataract surgery. My apprehension was not about the surgery, it was the outcome. You knew right away about my concern since I had worn lenses for so many years with success. You always answered my many questions. You and your staff are excellent. I had the utmost confidence in you from the beginning. I hope my eyes continue to be healthy as our sight is important.
– Fran G.
Dear Drs & All our Friends at Grosinger, Spigelman & Grey. Thank you for your continued support of our programs. We are keeping busy expanding our home delivered and curbside meals – our Outreach services are busy too. Your generosity is appreciated!
– Waterford Senior Center
Dr. Spigelman, I want to thank you for giving me good vision back from my recent cataract surgeries. It must be extremely rewarding to be able to help people in need. Eyesight is one of our greatest gifts! My wife and I were very impressed with you and all of your staff at your Eye Care Center, as well as at the Surgical Center. We were treated so well by everyone and true professionalism displayed by all. We have already recommended you to a few people and will gladly continue to do so, in the future. Thank You again,
– Sincerely, Richard V.
Dr. Grosinger, I want to thank you personally for your kind and generous gift of a professional discount in regards to ma cataract surgery. Your generosity has made a huge difference to me, and I am deeply greatful. Danny & Jeanne are right – you are the best, both professionally and as a person! Thank you again.
– Celin C.
Dear Dr. Spigelman, Now that we are settled in Florida, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you and your staff did for us throughout both of our cataract surgeries. You always made us feel so comfortable and you instilled confidence in us that everything would go smoothly. Your kind and caring demeanor is greatly appreciated. You leave no stone unturned to give your patients the best possible outcomes. Prior to coming to your office, we asked Dr. Joel Miller who he would recommend and he told us you operated on his whole family. That was all we needed to hear, especially coming from Dr. Miller. Your office staff is exceptional. Throughout all of our visits we had an opportunity to get to know many of the staff members. We especially appreciate and remember Angel and Roxanne, who call us by name each time they see us. We’d also like to acknowledge Sheva and Monique. It did not matter who we saw when we first arrived. It is obvious that each of the employees enjoys their positions and they make the patients feel welcome and comfortable. Everyone in the office is very professional and they exhibit great enthusiasm for their work. Clearly, you and your partners have established a great practice. We now understand why you are so renowned in your field. We hope you have a nice winter season, a healthy and happy 2020 and we look forward to seeing you when we return for our appointments in May, 2020. Warmest regards.
– Karen & Phil S.
Dr. Grosinger, My wife Jan and I just wanted to send along a quick note of appreciation for the work you do and the help you’ve given us. Your skill and professionality speak for themselves. Not only are we both so very happy with our “new” eyes, but the entire process has been stellar in all regards. And even though I’ve probably driven you crazy with all of my questions, at every turn you’ve put us at ease. Thank you.
– Glenn and Jan P.
To the Staff at Grosinger, Spigelman & Grey, My wife Jan and I have both recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Grosinger. He did a stellar job and we’re both very, very happy with the results. But no matter how good a doctor is, he still needs a great support staff. And the staff here at Grosinger, Spigelman & Grey is second to none. Everyone we’ve met, from those performing eye exams to the staff that does the critical measurements to the billing and scheduling departments has been absolutely great. This office is clearly run as a team effort and it shows. Thank you for all of your efforts and your great work.
– Glenn and Jan P.
I was always against doctors but your complete staff was very top notch. Thank you all for your understanding my needs and fears. Thanks so much.
– D.D.
I meant to comment during my annual this morning on the quality of your people. In all the years of my visits to your office I have marveled at the consistency, personality and competence of everyone of your associates. I have never been disappointed and I’m sure the adage “it starts at the top” applies here. Thanks for your attention and a great experience.
– Barry W.
Dear Dr. Grosinger and Dedicated Staff, Many thanks for your expertise and teamwork throughout my cataract surgery experience, seven months ago. Every night, for a while, I wanted to remove my contact lenses, but there was no need. What a pleasure not to fuss with contacts and backup glasses, especially for travel and photography. But, best of all, I’m grateful for opening my eyes every morning to a crystal clear view, both far and near. Warmest regards to all. Keep up the good work.
-Marsha L.
I saw Dr. Grosinger for cateracts at the beginning of January. I had surgery in both eyes, two weeks apart, by the end of January. Dr. Grosinger is very professional, caring, & highly trained. He has performed over 25,000 cataract surgeries. I purchased the symphony lens and they are amazing. I have never seen better in my life. Although the office is very busy, the staff is very attentive and caring. It is a well run office. I would recommend Dr. Grosinger to anyone needing cataract surgery.
– Darlene B.
Dear Dr. Spigelman, I often give thanks for you and your staff and tha caring, excellent treatment I received this year (2 cataract surgeries). I pray that God will bless you all. With gratitude
– Beth R.
Dear Dr. Grey, A very special thank you for seeing me a few days ago on very short notice. You and your staff were most gracious and exceptionally helpful. I was, and am, most appreciative and grateful. Very Sincerely,
– Janet H.
Dear Dr. Grosinger, Words cannot adequately express my appreciation for the outstanding service that you provided for me. I will forever be grateful that I now have great eyesight because of your skill in performing PRK surgery on my right eye and cataract surgery on my left eye. I am constantly amazed that I can go about my daily routine without the aid of eye glasses or contact lenses. My husband, Ken, has long recommended potential cataract surgery patients to you. I am so grateful that Ken suggested that I have you examine my eyes. I will continue to recommend you to everyone who needs an eye surgeon. In my opinion, you are the best! Thank you, thank you!
– Marjorie E.
“Fine experience, would rate 10 and refer family and friends.”
– Susan S.
Dear Dr. Les Grosinger: I want to thank you personally for the gift you gave me, my new sight. I have been very nearsighted for many years, and have been told I was near the legally blind spectrum, my vision was a -20. I had my first surgery on Sept 6, and my second on September 13. I was in shock when 1 could see without any glasses! It was a true miracle!
I have been a nurse for 22 years and had envisioned myself retiring early due to my low vision, but now that you have given me my new sight I don’t have to. Being only 55 I am fairly young for cataracts, but I’m ironically thankful that I developed them. I am bragging to everyone I run into about what an awesome and special doctor you are. Not only did you restore my vision, but you restored my life as well. Thank you for your special gift! Sincerely your patient
– Cathy W.
My office experience was most assuring that I am with the right doctor. I have great faith and trust in you, Dr. Grosinger. Thank you for improving my life – as well as the lives of so many other patients.
Dear Dr. Grosinger, Thank you for caring for my eyes, with my new glasses and sunglasses it’s a new world of sight. I will keep you & yours in my rosaries each day.
– Rose M.
Dear Dr. Grosinger, Thanks so much for taking such good care of my eye!. I thought this card reminded me of great music by the “Dead” I listened to as you artfully fixed my eye. Your staff is awesome, the surgical center fantastic and you doc are the best!. Thanks so much
– Judy R.
Dear Dr. Grosinger, Thank you for restoring my eyesight through your skillful cataract removal. You are an extraordinary physician and surgeon, supported by excellent office and surgery center staff. As a patient, I realize it was a privilege to have been in your care. Thank you with heartfelt appreciation.
– Catherine M.
Dr. Grosinger, Thank you for making both my eyes so bright. You are a good eye Dr.
– Edith P.
It was January, 2012 when I was diagnosed with Fuch’s dystrophy and referred to a cornea specialist. Mortified and terrified of losing my vision, I made an appointment with Dr. Alan Spigelman because of his vast experience listed on the William Beaumont Royal Oak website. In time, I would learn it was one of the best phone calls I ever made.
At his office, Dr. Spigelman examined my eyes thoroughly and told me that I had Fuch’s Dystrophy as well as cataracts in both eyes. He explained in careful detail that the cataracts would have to be removed and the corneas in both eyes would have to be replaced through surgical procedures. When the examination was over, I was beyond terrified; I couldn’t run out of their office fast enough.
Yet Dr. Spigelman agreed to see me for periodic exams and, Gayle, his surgical assistant, gave me lots of encouragement to move forward with the surgeries. Regardless, my eyesight was getting much worse. One rainy night, I drove on to a freeway, unable to see anything. Fortunately I got off and home safely. But I knew something had to be done or I’d not only lose my ability to drive, I would lose my sight.
After four years of fearful procrastination (and fighting with a health insurance co. to pay for the surgery), I had both the cataract surgery and cornea replacement surgery done in both eyes over the course of a year. If I had concerns or was in any discomfort, Dr. Spigelman responded professionally and caringly. If I had questions, the surgical assistants were always available and supportive.
When the surgeries were done, the results were life changing! My vision is 100% better and I can now drive confidently at any time. I am so grateful to Dr. Spigelman for his incredible surgical skills and professional manner. Additionally, I want to thank Dr. Spigelman and his surgical assistants for their encouragement and patience with me until I found the courage to have these surgeries done.
– Marsha K.
Dear Dr. Grosinger: I want to thank you and your staff for the very professional manner in which you recently treated me for cataracts. The personalized treatment that I received was simply the best. Your staff was friendly, efficient, and caring, and the entire process from initial consultation to post—surgery follow-up simply cannot be improved upon. Upon receiving a new prescription from Dr. Karen Cash at Eye—Q Optical after my surgeries, I can now see better than at any time in the last 25 years or so. I am one happy patient! Thank you again for restoring my eyesight.
– Fred H.
I am extremely impressed with everything regarding my visit to the Doctors office and Surgery Center. Thank you all for a job well done! I’d highly recommend your office. Thanks to your patient Sally B. for highly recommending your office for my surgery. Thank you Dr. Grosinger for running such an incredibly efficient and caring office. Your staff speaks volumes of how you care personally for your staff and patients.
– Janet G.
Words cannot express how grateful I am to you for restoring my sight! Your staff and nurses have been wonderful
– Nancy T.
Dear Doctor Spigelman, I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for all you do for me and my family. You always treat us with kindness, attention and high professionalism. Thank you from all my heart.
– Erna P.
Many organizations strive for it! You surely have it! Your team was so accommodating, helpful and amazing. My family is very grateful for the care you provided. The staff welcomed us with a smile, kind words and compassion. Although the waiting room was filled, you made us feel like we were the only one there. We cannot thank you enough for the excellent customer service. The receptionist, nurse and doctor all made our visit to your office a great experience. Thank you very much.
– Joseph F.
Les, Just wanted to drop you a note regarding my experience the other day. As I think you know, I have had a lot of experience with administration of medical facilities and that is precisely what I do at the [hospital] Cardiovascular Center currently. I want to compliment you and your staff. My experience was first rate and I am very appreciative. One of the marks of an efficient office is one that is very busy (as yours was) and yet everyone seems to know what they are doing and it gets done. Things moved along at a proper pace and everyone was friendly and helpful. Employees showed a lot of respect for their co-workers, another sign of a well run organization. I have scheduled my surgery with you in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again.
– Melvin L.
I recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Grosinger. The experience was positive and the results are fantastic! The team at the Eye Surgery Center were very friendly and efficient. A big thank you to Dr. Grosinger and his team!
– Julie S.
Dear Dr. Spigelman and Staff,
Thank you so much for such an excellent experience with my surface ablation surgery. Not only have my visual results been far exceeding my expectations; but my care, prior, during and following the procedure, was exceptional. I want to thank Dr. Spigelman in particular for his professional integrity, reassurance and kindness throughout. My family and I thank you for my new “lease on life”.
Sincerly,
– Lia G.
Nothing could be improved! Your clinic and staff should be studied and copied by other clinics and hospitals. Outstanding service is the only words for you and yours. Thank you so very much.
– Delores L.
I have been seeing Dr. Grosinger for several years and would not consider anyone else to care for my eyes. I have repeatedly recommended Dr. Grosinger to my friends and have entrusted him with the care of my childrens eyes. I recently had cataract surgery. The professionalism of his staff, and the care I received was outstanding. My recovery period was short and my vision is excellent.
– Ken C.
My cataract surgery was excellent! I can see so much more clearly! I didn’t even realize how fuzzy my vision had gotten. The surgery was quick and easy, they made sure I didn’t have a bad reaction to the medication, and I was totally back to normal by the next day. I would highly recommend Dr. Grosinger as a caring and extremely competent physician.
– Alice C.
I am constantly amazed and grateful at how well I can see without contacts or glasses which have been part of my life for over sixty years. About twenty five years ago, I developed retinal tears and other problems which caused one eye to be twice as near-sighted as the other. Consequently, my eyes were never able to be corrected fully or to work together so I relied on the stronger eye all these years.
When I came in to see Dr. Grosinger, all I asked for was to be able to read road signs so I could continue to drive confidently and to have “thinner” glasses. I got so much more. The lenses that were implanted allow both eyes to see the same size print on a page so both eyes work well together. Distance vision is excellent. I need glasses to read but that is not a problem for me after wearing “thick” glasses and fussing with contacts for so many years.
The surgery was easy. There was absolutely no pain involved.
– Doris O.
When my Ophthalmologist retired a number of years ago, I was referred to Doctor Grosinger. What a blessing that has been for me! I came with a lazy right eye that never developed (very little vision in this eye) and a weak left eye that was corrected with glasses. My initial visit with Dr Grosinger indentified two additional problems: 1. I had the beginning of acute angle-closure glaucoma, 2. the start of cataracts.
Dr. Grosinger later performed an in-office laser procedure to address the glaucoma which prevented optic nerve damage and loss of vision. After careful monitoring for a couple of years he determined it was time to perform cataract surgery with new lens implants to address issues I was experiencing that are common like blurred vision, poor night vision, and sensitivity to light. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I now only need glasses to read and for safety use.
Dr. Grosinger, knowing I was apprehensive about any surgery because I essentially had only one functional eye, has been awesome. He was very patient with me explaining the diagnosis and prognosis and gave me the confidence he could make dramatic improvements in my vision. He did exactly that and my wife is also a patient as well. WE LOVE HIM! Thank you Dr. Grosinger for the dramatic transformation you have made with my vision!

Dear Dr. Spigelman,On Tuesday I came into your office fully prepared to express my gratitude for the fine and precise work you did on my eyes. Yet as so often happens nowadays, the words wouldn’t come. For the first time in more than sixty years, I can see all the way across the street! My eyes feel fine and are working beautifully. Thank you!
Also, the staff, both at the surgery and in your office, are superb. Those of us who mostly frequent your office have not been so vulnerable since infancy, yet I didn’t detect a shred of disdain or dismissiveness from a single one of the people who helped me. They were unfailingly kind, expert, and professional. A direct reflection on the boss.
So thank you, Dr. Spigelman, and bless every one of you.
– Patricia D.
We just returned from S. Africa and I thought of you so many times and what I had to be grateful for. Prior to cataract surgery I could no longer see details, and was only able to see fairly prominent animals in our yearly trips to S. Africa. Because of your work in restoring much of my sight, I was able to see things at a distance and able to enjoy all the beautiful, exotic birds. I truly appreciate you and the gift of sight you gave me. I am able to do our mission work so much better.
– Sidney B.
I was almost blind. Dr. Spigelman performed surgery and now it’s like a miracle. It truly is. Everything seemed jumbled up in the morning and now everything seems clear. He truly is a miracle worker and deserves recognition.
– Charlene T.
My situation was serious, and apparently daunting to other eye surgeons. After 3 different retina/macula repairs in one eye over several years, acuity in the damaged eye was seriously deficient. The retina surgeon then advised that cataracts were developing in both eyes and referred me to a “basic practice?” ophthalmologist.
Over the following few years, 2 doctors prescribed even stronger corrective lenses while saying “no urgency” for cataract removal. After my last driver license renewal vision test was just barely passed, with 20/40 in the better eye & 20/100+ in the damaged eye, I sought more pro-active help.
Less than a year later I found Dr Grosinger, who gave me confidence that he could substantially improve my vision, then he and your excellent staff delivered. After cataract removal, my eyes are now 20/20 and 20/40; comparable to when I finished high school not needing glasses. Naturally, I am thoroughly pleased.
– Phil S.
Thank you for the vision videos. It was very informative to learn about the cataract surgery procedures prior to my mother having her surgery. The information was very helpful to us.
– Leslie N.
I would like to thank Dr. Grosinger and his wonderful staff for eliminating my life-long need for glasses. While glasses often got in the way of my lifestyle, (I once forgot my contacts on a snowboarding trip and had to put my goggles on over my glasses, resulting in a huge headache and distorted vision all day) I had no idea what a huge convenience it would be to have full peripheral vision and no vision accessories to track and maintain. I moved to Chicago 6 years ago but was a patient of Dr. Grosinger for 15 years prior to that move. Knowing how comfortable I was with Dr. Grosinger and the wealth of experience he has (and seeing several successful LASIK surgeries from his office) I chose to drive to Detroit from Chicago for the surgery. I am glad I chose care over convenience. From start to finish I was comfortable with the level of information, options given, frankness about the procedure and care. As a graphic designer, I am heavily dependent on perfect vision for my livelihood. Dr. Grosinger addressed each of my concerns insightfully. Being able to do the whole procedure in the office was a big help to my nerves, as was the private waiting room I got to lounge in while waiting for the medicine to take effect. Follow up care was a breeze; thanks for being flexible with my 6 hour drive! Thank you all again for taking such great care of my eyes. I look forward to another winter of snowboarding without glasses!
– Charlene T.
Thank you for taking such good care of my eyes. I am thrilled to be able to see so well. I am constantly amazed and grateful at how well I can see without contacts or glasses which have been part of my life for over sixty years. I have been a patient of Dr. Spigelman since 1998. Dr. Spigelman has performed two different surgeries (Lasik & Cataract) on my eyes. In both cases, he has been able to restore my vision to its full capacity.
– Anita, West Bloomfield
I have worn glasses or contacts since I was 14 years old. Because of allergies I kept getting infections and red eyes while wearing my contacts. So I finally decided on having lasik eye surgery. It has been maybe 7 years now and my husband and I both think it was one of the best decisions I have made. David is a caring professional and his staff were always polite and courteous. I can now wake up and see the alarm clock without putting on glasses. I can also read without reading glasses because Dr. Grey corrected one eye for distance and one eye for reading. It is just fabulous and I have recommended Dr. Grey to several of my friends.
– Toni, Rochester Hills
I have been given the gift of sight in my eye that has seen nothing but movement in over 20 years. Joy’s vision history: Right eye best corrected acuity 20/25 with a 5˚ field of vision (about the size of a drinking straw), legally blind Left eye best corrected acuity 20/200 with a 10˚ field of vision, legally blind I must say that Dr Les Grosinger highly skilled surgical removal of my cataracts are the 3 “C’s” of my vision – crisp, clear, clean. I have been substantially visually impaired since birth, legally blind. When I first saw Dr Grosinger he thought he was going get vision in my eye that has only seen movement for more than 20 years. And so I do. One week after the surgery I am seeing 20/70+ in my worst (right) eye and 20/25 in my better (left) eye, equal to its best. Legally blind is either best acuity of corrected to not better than 20/200 or a field of vision of no more than 20˚. My right eye was legally blind by both field of acuity, Where my left eye allowed me to have people believing that I could see normally, even though the field was so small. Over the past few years my vision has been getting worse and worse.
– Joy, Redford
Dr. Grosinger, It is frightening when I reminisce during a lethal weapon my car with diminished eye sight. As a result of your medical training and expertise, I’m a living example of the song title “I Can See Clearly Now”
Nina M.
Dr. Grosinger, Thank you for your lifetime commitment to medicine. You did a fabulous job with my cataracts! We owe the quality of life we enjoy to the scientists, innovators and engineers. You incorporate all these. Again – Thanks
– Pamela R.
OMG…I can see! Thank you everyone from Dr. Grosinger to the entire staff – for this incredible new vision I am experiencing. Not only can I see street sign, I can read the newspaper and the tiny, but essential information. This is fun, awesome and amazing! Oh yeah – I can see my wrinkles too!
– Linda Cohen
I last went to see him 6 months ago because I have problems with one of my eyes. He has an excellent bedside manner, I have complete confidence in him as a doctor, he has done surgery on me, and he is very professional, very patient, explains things as much as you need to know, and his staff is very professional. The staff is reponsive, he has a large practice, but he also has an adequate staff, and they are very helpful with any questions.
– Lynda P.
Dr. Spigelman did my lasik surgery. He also did my wife’s lasik surgery. We are very satisfied with the work. He is excellent. His general demeanor and expertise are great. His staff was also wonderful. We were able to talk to him personally. My vision was very bad. I was told by an optometrist that it might be risky for me to have lasik because there wouldn’t be enough cornea to blast away. He said if anyone could do it that this guy could. After the consultation he said he could and the results have been great.
– Theresa R.
Dr. Grosinger – We just wanted to say thank you. Both of our surgeries went well and our eyes are doing just fine. We truly appreciate it! Love your staff. Thanks so much!
– Don and Judy A.
Just wanted to mention my eye issues were addressed by a wonderful group of professionals….the office personal … Doctor Grosinger …. and a special thanks to “Kindra” …. may God continue to bless each of you.
– Jim S.
